Hardware Engineering Manager / Director

2) Race must be Chinese and can speak Chinese (Not fluent is ok)

GENERAL SUMMARY: 
The responsibilities for this position include managing the development and qualification of product designs including platforms (desktops, portables, or server computers), peripherals or components.  Duties include managing all activities necessary to take a product from concept to production including, system architecture definition,  design, prototyping, debug validation, and factory ramp support.  Additional duties for peripherals include overseeing the development/qualification of associated device drivers/applets.  The development engineering senior manager will be responsible for working with the core team, design team, cross-functional team, and suppliers to ensure his/her design meets the requirements for; feature set, functionality, cost, reliability, regulatory compliance, and industry standards of compliance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



¨       Work as a member of cross-functional core team to manage medium to large platform/peripheral development programs from profile (concept) through acceptance (initial factory ramp) phase.
¨       (PRP) Provide technical management of electrical development, mechanical development, software development, peripherals development, and Core Services activities required for the program.
¨       Lead an extended, cross functional, engineering team to develop medium to high complexity platform/peripheral development projects
¨       (PRP) Create and execute Development and Test Plans that meet the program goals (targets for time-to-market, scope, cost, and factory and field quality).
¨       Working with the core team on your assigned program, develop the engineering portion of the schedule, budget, risk management plan, quality goals, and product cost estimates.
¨       (PRP) Manage development activities of external suppliers and delivery of technologies from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners.
¨       Leads team to successfully deliver the goals for schedule, budget, product cost, product quality, and production ramp rate on your assigned program.
¨       (PRP) Manage Product Group (PG) development budget and product costs.
¨       Ensure each member of your staff both understands and follows the PRP/EDP processes.  Identify and drive improvements in the development process that facilitates quality, schedule, or cost improvements.

¨       Develop approved resource plans, and aggressively staff the organization. In a proactive manner, continually reassess resource plans based on changing business conditions.

¨       Effective management and development of subordinates to include holding one-on-one meetings with all employees on a weekly basis, holding bi-weekly staff meetings, holding quarterly off-sites, creating performance and development plans on an annual basis and performance reviews on a quarterly and annual basis.

¨       Ensures team has access to state-of-the-art tools as necessary to successfully execute their development projects.
