			Vice President – Manufacturing   The Client Our client is part of a large conglomerate that manufactures a range of specialty chemicals. With technical collaborations with some of the global leaders, its plants employ state-of-the-art technologies and processes. It has a wide customer base, primarily in the tyre industry, and is further expanding its manufacturing capacities to cater to increasing demands in both domestic and overseas markets. It is embarking on a major initiative to expand its manufacturing presence in Asia Pacific, both through greenfield projects and acquisitions. Our client is interested in recruiting a senior professional to join the management team as : Position           : Vice President – Manufacturing Location          : Major Metropolitan City, South Asia Responsibilities Reporting to the Managing Director, the selected candidate will provide overall leadership to the Manufacturing function. He/she will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across multiple sites; capability/people development; process enhancements and technology upgrades; implementation of global best practices in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and HSE; implementation of modern production and process management concepts for continuous improvements leading to sustained cost reductions and margin improvements; overall quality assurance; inbound supply chain; and technical/operational due diligence of potential acquisition targets. As part of the senior management team, he/she will be expected to contribute to long term corporate strategy and take ownership of the manufacturing strategy elements. Direct reports include Plant Managers at each manufacturing site. Internal interface with functional leaders of Sales & Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Planning, Product Development, Quality, HR etc. will be required. Requirements Candidates should be senior professionals, with chemical engineering and management qualifications, and requisite manufacturing management exposure in a large-sized specialty chemicals manufacturing company. They should have about 20 years of work experience of which the last 4-5 should be in a senior manufacturing management role. Exposure to specialty chemicals, esp pigments and carbon black, or related products, would be essential Strong leadership, communication and management skills, ability to work with multi-ethnic teams, and a positive, can-do attitude will be critical for success in this role. The position is open to candidates of all nationalities. Fluency in English language is a must.
