You will carry out migrations at customer locations in line with project migration practices and procedures. Role will comprise four components:
1. Planning phase (no travel), assistance with:
· Gathering information from in scope sites
· Liaise with respect to site communication and the clarification of migration events
· Scheduling and planning on a site by site basis based on Migration Portal data
2. Infrastructure deployment (low travel), , assistance with:
· Co-ordinating hardware order & delivery
· Overseeing hardware installation (rack, network, power, etc)
3. Migration (High travel)
· On-site migration work where required
· Client support & troubleshooting (Floor walking)
· Liaison with and partner staff
· Setting up & “kicking off” migrations at large sites which will utilise own staff
4. Training & Support (medium travel)
· Assist with developing training packs
· Creation of best practice and lessons learnt over the duration of the migration.
· Ensure good operational handover to local support staff
Requirements:

Understanding of Microsoft Exchange and management interfaces.
*
Understanding of the Windows desktop environment (XP, W2K, 9x)
*
Understanding of Windows 2003/2008 server and associated security sub system.
*
Understanding of relevant network services, namely: DNS, WINS, DHCP
*
Understanding of Active Directory and associated technologies
